Course Description

 

Please join us for a presentation by Dusty Dezell, CISO and learn about cybersecurity activities to be aware of and to practice at home and at work.  These quick and easy activities will help ensure your technology is secure and available when you need it.

 

By the end of the presentation, you will be able to:

  • Be aware of and practice 12 cybersecurity practices in a world where cybersecurity is a shared responsibility
  • Complete a self-assessment using individualized scorecards 
  • Have an enhanced awareness of safe cyber practices and knowledge of cyber security resources for use at home and work

About the Speaker:
As Security Officer, Dusty is accountable for the Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Solution Engineering of the City network.  Dusty is an Air Force Veteran with more than 26 years of IT experience in the Department of Defense and local government.  This includes a background in Cybersecurity, System Administration, Program Management, IT Operations Management, and IT Service Management.  Dusty holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking.  He is a certified CISO and CISSP as well as, a PMP and ITIL Expert.
 
Meeting Information
This month's chapter meeting will be held on the second level of Stockmen’s Bank (25 N Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903).  We will have a boxed lunch that will be provided. 
There is a parking lot located in front of the building and parking tickets will be validated.  Lunch will begin at 12:00pm and the presentation begins at 12:30 pm.  The estimated presentation is approximately one and a half hours.  The cost is $20 for members, $30 for non-members and $15 for students with valid student ID.  Only cash or checks will be accepted at the door.
