Thursday, December 13, 2018 - A Peek at the DoD Fraud Landscape

Course Description
Please join us for a presentation by Dr. Steve G. Green and Captain Scott Kozlak.  Dr. Green and Capt. Kozlak will talk about the "New Fraud Landscape" mostly associated with the post-911 wartime environment that the DoD has been operating in.  They will use some actual Fraud, Waste and Abuse examples and explain their significance.  They will also define and explain a concept referred to as Normalization of Deviance and provide some general suggestions to reduce fraud.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Steve G. Green is the Professor of Accounting and the Deputy Head of the Department of Management at the United States Air Force Academy.  He holds APDP Level III Program Management Certification, is a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and a Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A).  He publishes and consults frequently on many different accounting, government, and education related topics.  He received his doctoral degree from United States International University, MS from the University of Southern California, and a BS from the United States Air Force Academy.

Meeting Information
This month's chapter meeting will be held at Patty Jewett Golf Club (900 E Espanola St. Colorado Springs, CO 80907).  We will have a breakfast buffet that includes pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and more.  
Patty Jewett will open their gates at 7:30 am and check-in will begin then.  The presentation begins at 8:00 am.  The estimated meeting time is approximately one and a half hours.  The cost is $25.  Only cash or checks will be accepted at the door.
